For three years, Nick and Taylor, have blessed us with their creativity, passion, enthusiasm, and joy! How lucky we have been to have them serve as our Youth Ministry Interns! They are great friends to our youth and we have learned much from them. They are funny, genuine, and have shared their faith – questions, doubts, and all, with us openly. It’s been so fun to watch them grow and develop their leadership skills.
Building relationships with our youth, they spent countless hours in vans heading to places like Camp Don Lee, Massanetta Springs Conference Center, Asheville Youth Mission Weekend, Wrightsville Beach, and Winterplace Ski Resort! Nick, a skilled snowboarder, has coached many of our youth down the mountain! Taylor has been a huge support and encourager, offering a listening ear and thoughtful advice.
Some of the words our youth used to describe them are thoughtful, kind, fun, passionate, open-minded, selfless, humble, sweet, and loyal. I can’t think of better adjectives for those leading our youth!
Both students at NC State, we connected with them through the Presbyterian Campus Ministry, where they served in leadership. Nick graduated in December and is heading to Columbia Theological Seminary in the fall where he will begin studies and pursue a call to ordained ministry. Taylor will graduate this weekend, spend 3 weeks on trips with SAPC Youth this summer, and then begin a job in Ohio using her biomedical engineering degree.
We will miss them dearly and are so thankful for the ways they have ministered to and with SAPC! Without a doubt, the Church will continue to be blessed by their gifts and talents!
