“God is all around this place. I feel it and see it in people. Raleigh Rescue Mission has helped me gain my independence and stability. This place is a blessing.” Mike, Mission client
Saint Andrews is proud to support the ministry of the Raleigh Rescue Mission (RRM). In addition to emergency overnight services for women and children and structured, long-term recovery and rehabilitation services for both men and women, there is an adult education center and a medical clinic. In 2017, the RRM provided 19,673 hours of GED preparation, life and job skills classes, computer training, counseling, and discipleship. The RRM’s on site medical clinic is available for current and after-care clients with adult and pediatric services available as well as mental health, dental, eye care, and health education services. In 2017, there were 2,484 medical visits.
The primary focus of Saint Andrews has been to help serve and clean up dinner on the second Saturday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. The mission provides the food and supervision and we provide 4 to 6 people to help. They prefer that the people who help in the kitchen are at least 12 years of age. Last year, 156,621 meals were served in the RRM dining room.
Help Serve Dinner: Aug. 11, Oct. 13, Dec. 8. If you can help with dinner or want to learn more about the other volunteer opportunities, please call the church office at 919-847-1913.
The RRM receives no government support and exists through the partnership of individuals, businesses, churches, and others in the community who support their work. The RRM is very grateful for the generous support of the members of Saint Andrews.
