“I thank God every day and night for leading me here – to Raleigh Rescue Mission. If it weren’t for the Mission, I don’t know where I would be.”
Tasha, Mission client
Saint Andrews is proud to support the ministry of the Raleigh Rescue Mission (RRM). Services include emergency overnight services for women and children and structured, long-term recovery and rehabilitation services for both men and women who want a fresh start to overcome homelessness, addiction, and other life-controlling issues. Women and children are welcomed at 3:30 pm each afternoon and the overnight services include dinner, a shower and a clean bed, and breakfast and a sack lunch before leaving in the morning. Last year, 39,055 nights of safe shelter were provided and 262 homeless children were spared separation from their families and equipped to succeed in school.
Long-term clients receive food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and counseling. A case manager works with each individual to map their path out of homelessness. The long-term clients are encouraged to stay at least four months to take advantage of Bible studies, life skills classes, vocational training, interview coaching, mentoring, and discipleship. Last year, 1,122 men, women, and children had their lives changed through the long term programs.
The primary focus of Saint Andrews has been to help serve and clean up dinner on the second Saturday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. If you can help with dinner on Aug. 11, Oct. 13 or Dec. 8, or if you want to learn more about the other volunteer opportunities please contact the church office at 919-847-1913.
The RRM receives no government support and exists through the partnership of individuals, businesses, churches, and others in the community who support their work. The RRM is very grateful for the generous support of the members of Saint Andrews.
