Prayer Shawl

Celebrate the Gift of Love, Friendship and Caring

Love your neighbor as yourself

The Prayer Shawl Ministry at Saint Andrews  Presbyterian Church began in April 2006. This ministry combines the love of knitting and crocheting with the Lord’s commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself.”

Why a prayer shawl?

They bring comfort and care during times of illness, for those facing surgery or medical procedures, in moments of loss, or to celebrate the arrival of a new baby.

Learn, Listen and Laugh

Although most of the knitting is done at home, meetings are organized for knitting instructions, fellowship, prayer and blessings for the recipients of the shawls. Completed shawls are then placed at the front of the church and blessed on the last Sunday of the month.

Our meetings are relaxed and informal. They are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Thursday mornings at 10:00am at the church. Please know that everyone is more than welcome to join the knitting circle at any time.

For more information, or if someone you love needs a shawl, contact the Church Office.
